Just when he thought it was safe to go into work, Michael got yet another phone call today.

I’d logged onto the BPS and followed the instruction to download the payroll reports. It linked to another site and then asked me to enter my ID and password. No problem.

HA! Some people just never learn – it wouldn’t accept my ID or Password and as I’d just used it to log in to the site I thought it was rather taking the piss. Now apparently, Michael says, that the link takes me out of the banking system to another site. That is where I should use my other ID and password.

What other ID and password? Oh, you have to set that up with the company. Did I want him to ask them to email it to me? Now after getting to know Michael quite well over the last two days, I don’t want to give him a bad name or anything, but why on earth didn’t he mention that when he explained yesterday how I go about downloading the reports?

Obvious really, he must enjoy our chats. He wanted me to ring back today to ask if he enjoyed his film.

Pooks is now a Lady of Leisure, I’m convinced that she is currently paddling with the newts in the pond – she’s not answering me at any rate. I don’t know, you try and skive off and the one person who is guaranteed to lead you astray has buggered off somewhere to enjoy herself. I didn’t even get offered a bit of caterpillar cake either – they ate the lot.

I suppose I may as well do some work for a change.

Actually missus I'm working - I'm writing at the minute - no it's not more H&S but something for work. That's how dedicated I am. On break but working anyway. Not paddling with the newts, nor the frogs, not drinking copious amounts of coffee or eating the remaining chocolate cake. But working.

Oh, I believe you, the whole readership does. Not for one minute do we think you're sat with you legs up on the sofa reading a book. Thought never crossed out minds.

Well I might as well read a book. No one has written anything for ages that I could be reading instead.

It's sad, such a shortness of new good stories.
I could complain too. But to whom should I do that. There's nobody who could entertain me with stories which were promised a long time ago.

There you go Pooks, Sommer would like to complain at your lack of updates of late. Shame on you - you being the Good One too.

She can't have meant me; it was way to subtle a dig. And Scally has only just updated, so can you just hurry up and sort those two boys out.

And you can't comment on feed back because Sommer does give you feed back.

How many stories have I up since you last published - oh yes that would be four - I am aware that you have more stories up than I have however I've been writing (well on the site) for a far shorter time than you have. So the comment could not possibly be directed at me. If the cap fits honey....

Look we all know that it's not a cap I wear but a halo. And NO comments about coat hangers - you're meant to have an imagination after all.

I couldn't hope for such a reaction s.o. thinks I meant her. I'm writing again but in german, if s.o. is interested...

Geschichten auf Deutsch?

Ja. Ich habe auch schon welche ins Netz gestellt, würde ich aber nicht mehr tun, sie sind zu langweilig.

Now, there you go Readership. You get to learn Norn Irish and German here on the blog. The Rainbow Slider and I are always looking to expand your linguistic horizons.

(Sue - any idea what they're on about? It's Scally and Sommer so it doesn't bode well.)

I did make the fault to boast about writing stories currently. I thought I'm on the safe site without anyone who knows german that well, now I'm busted and Scally surely want's to see the results.

I hoped to delay it by saying how boring my stories are, but she won't believe.

Well, I’ll admit to putting it through Babelfish to translate and I’ll be honest with you - it still didn’t make any sense. So thank you Sommer for translating for us.

Oh, and Sommer? There isn’t an excuse going that I haven’t already tried out on Scally. I’m sorry, but you are now a marked woman – just give her the story.

I'm afraid my German isn't up to the standard of being able to read a whole story. Still, I will be waiting for as and when Sommer decides to translate it into English.

Sue said...

True, but you do realise that she'll use the excuse that it won't translate well....

I think I'm of the opinion that you all would do just as well to claim, as I do, that you're not a writer at all. ("Oh no, it must have been -someone else-.") It saves you the hassle of being demanded, in any language. :P

You know Nicole, I nearly read that as:
